Brenda and I went to a close friend's funeral on Monday. Toward the end of the service, we were praying the Lord's Prayer. About a third of the way through, I couldn't go on. So I listened and cried as the others continued. Same with the closing hymn that followed.
What a gift it is to be carried by our brothers and sisters in Christ. Dear God, thank you for being present in our lives. Thank you for giving us the Church to be your living body when we need you. Thank you that neither death nor life can ever separate us from your love.
